In Paphos, cattle thieves were caught

The Paphos police detained two men suspected of cattle theft. The owner of the livestock farm reported the missing animals to the police.

The complaint was received by the police on Sunday around 21:00. After receiving the signal about the alleged offense, officers from the Polis Chrysochou Police Station arrived at the scene and set up an ambush.

Around 22:30, a suspicious car parked near the house. Two men got out of the car, then entered the premises and apparently attempted to steal livestock. However, noticing the presence of the police, the suspected cattle thieves attempted to flee.

During the ensuing chase, one of the culprits was caught. His accomplice was later apprehended during further patrol of the area. Both men, aged 42 and 22, were placed in custody. On Monday, they appeared before the Paphos District Court, which remanded them in custody on suspicion of cattle theft.

Further investigation of the case is being conducted by the Polis Chrysochou Police Station.
