Water Leak Causes Sea Pollution in Limassol
A leak from an irrigation system has led to sea pollution in Limassol. The incident occurred due to damage to a central well.
On Sunday, social media users highlighted the discharge of water into the sea. According to the Limassol District Administration, the pollution resulted from an irrigation water leak.
- "In response to recent reports about the discharge of water into the sea at Limassol, which have raised concerns among residents, the Limassol District Administration clarifies that this incident was caused by an irrigation water leak," the statement said.
The authorities assure that the discharge has been halted: "In collaboration with the relevant agencies, all necessary measures are being taken to clean the beaches."
