According to the Department of Meteorology of the Republic of Cyprus, on Friday, February 2nd, the region is under the influence of weak low pressure. The cyclone "Avgi," which has been affecting the country for several days, has retreated. However, snowfall in the mountains is still ongoing.

According to the meteorological service forecast, the air temperature during the day will reach up to 16°C in inland areas, up to 17°C on the coasts, and up to 5°C in mountainous areas, where frosts persist on the highest leeward peaks of Troodos.

By evening and night, increased cloudiness and isolated rain are expected, mainly in western areas and on the northern coast, with a possibility of light snowfall in the highlands.

The air temperature will drop to about 5°C in inland areas, down to 6°C in the southeast and on the eastern coast, down to 10°C on the west coast, down to 7°C on other coasts, and down to -1°C in mountainous areas, where frosts are expected.

It is also noted that the snow cover height in the Troodos mountains at the time of the bulletin release was 27 cm.

It is expected that the temperature will not change significantly until Sunday and will remain close to the average climatic values, with a slight increase on Monday.
