Meteorologists have shared the weather forecast for the holiday weekend in Cyprus

The Meteorology Department of the Republic of Cyprus has published the weather forecast for the upcoming New Year's weekends - from December 27 to January 1. On the last day of the outgoing year and the first day of the new year, rainy weather is expected.

Throughout the upcoming festive days, the region will be influenced by weak high pressure.

On Friday, December 29, in the first half of the day, the weather will be predominantly clear. The wind will blow mainly from the northeast and then shift to the west-northwest.

According to the meteorological service forecast, the daytime air temperature today will rise to 22°C inland and on the coasts, and to 11°C in mountainous areas.

By the evening, the weather will still be predominantly clear. The air temperature will drop to around 8°C inland, 10°C on the coasts, and 4°C in mountainous areas.

On Saturday, December 30, in the first half of the day, the weather will be clear, but gradually, high cloudiness will increase. On Sunday, on the eve of the New Year, increased cloudiness will be observed, with possible light rain, mainly in the mountains and the north.

On Monday, the first day of the New Year, variable cloudiness is expected, with possible isolated showers, mainly in the afternoon.

The temperature on Saturday will remain at the same level, but by Monday, it will gradually decrease, remaining slightly above average climatic values.
