Swimmer injured in sea caves of Paphos rescued by helicopter

In Paphos, a 24-year-old man was injured while swimming near the coastal caves. A helicopter was used for his rescue.

According to an assistant to the operational director of the Paphos police, the incident was reported to emergency services yesterday around 16:00. The swimmer was injured on the rocks in the sea caves. The injured man managed to climb onto a rock, but due to rough sea conditions, he was unable to swim to the shore.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Center mobilized and directed a helicopter towards him, which picked up the swimmer from the rock and airlifted him to the shore.

The injured man was taken to the general hospital of Paphos. According to doctors, his life is not in danger, and he sustained only minor injuries.
