Limassol Police Arrested 140 Drivers in One Day

During road safety checks in Limassol, the police detained 141 violators in a single day, with 30 drivers caught without a license and insurance.

The inspections took place on Limassol's roads from 6:00 to 18:00 on Thursday as part of efforts to prevent traffic incidents and enhance road safety.

Out of the 30 cases of driving without a license and insurance, 20 were brought to court on the same day, while further investigation is underway for the remaining ten. All 30 vehicles were confiscated.

In addition to the 30 violators, two student drivers were arrested for lacking licenses, and another for lacking insurance.

Eight drivers failed the MOT (Ministry of Transport) inspection, 11 individuals were arrested for operating vehicles already deregistered, and 13 drivers were caught without proper registration.

The list of identified violations also includes speeding, illegal parking, disregarding traffic signals, driving under the influence of narcotics, and failure to use seat belts or protective helmets for motorcyclists.
