The health authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have demanded the immediate recall and removal from stores of a batch of packaged dried figs under the trade name "Snackin' Good Serano." Excessive levels of the genotoxic carcinogen, aflatoxin B1, harmful to humans, were discovered in it.

During the inspection, it was found that the figs packaged and distributed in Cyprus contain aflatoxin B1 at a percentage higher than permitted by legislation.

The ministry also stated that some packages from the contaminated batch may already be in the hands of consumers, who are strongly advised to refrain from consuming them and return the packages to the place of purchase.

The warning pertains to dried figs in a sealed plastic package with the label SNACKIN' GOOD "SERANO," batch number: 231023, barcode: 5290097015871. The country of origin is Greece.
