The football match between Omonia 29M and APOEL on Sunday will take place without away fans in attendance.

According to the Cyprus Football Association (CFA), this decision was made following a warning letter from Chief of Police Stylianos Papateodoru regarding a planned protest against the fan card system near the Glafkos Clerides Stadium in Peristerona, where Omonia 29M plays its home matches.

The police had previously received intelligence indicating the potential presence of organized APOEL supporters at the match due to the stadium's location and the nature of the surrounding area.

As a result, the CFA decided that the game would proceed without away fans, allowing only a limited number of home team supporters to attend.

APOEL representatives acknowledged the decision but expressed their disagreement with the reasoning behind it.

This Sunday’s match will be the first-ever meeting between Omonia 29M and APOEL.
