Yasin Ekrem Serim Officially Appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia
Over the weekend, Yasin Ekrem Serim was officially appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia. The appointment was announced in the Official Gazette of the Turkish Republic.
In a social media post about his appointment, the new ambassador highlighted that his nomination was made with the approval of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the endorsement of Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The diplomat expressed his gratitude to the Turkish leader for the trust placed in him and emphasized his commitment to working diligently to ensure that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus achieves the future it deserves.
Yasin Ekrem Serim has been serving in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at various levels since 2016. He replaces Metin Feyzioğlu, who has been appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to Prague. The position was previously held by former Minister Egemen Bağış.
