Fire Safety Week to Be Held in the TRNC

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will celebrate Fire Safety Week from September 25 to October 1, featuring a series of engaging events designed to promote awareness about fire safety and prevention.

This annual event is organized by the Fire Department of the Police General Directorate (PGM) and aims to educate the public about fire hazards and the essential measures needed to combat them.

On Wednesday, September 25, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, a firefighter parade will take place on Mehmet Akif Street (Dereboyu) in Nicosia. The parade will proceed along the stretch between the Pronto Circle and the Citroën traffic lights intersection. Please note that the street will be closed to traffic during this time.

Throughout the week, the Fire Chief will also serve as a guest speaker on various TV and radio programs. Informational brochures about fire prevention measures will be distributed to the public, and fire department personnel will conduct fire safety training sessions for primary school students.

Additionally, visits to sick and retired firefighters are scheduled to show appreciation for their service.

On September 30 and October 1, a volleyball tournament will take place at the Atatürk Sports Hall in Nicosia, featuring teams from the PGM Fire Department and local fire stations.

On Tuesday, October 1, a blood donation campaign will be organized at the Nicosia Fire Station located in the organized industrial zone.
