In Northern Cyprus, 98-octane gasoline may disappear from sale. So far, the discussion is only about Turkish Cypriot Petroleum (K-PET) gas stations. The reason is the high cost of high-octane fuel.

According to local media reports, the agenda includes a question about discontinuing the sale of gasoline with an octane number of 98 at K-PET branded gas stations. The fuel may run out as early as March 18. The company's statement is under consideration by the government.

In an interview with Kıbrıs Postası, the general director of K-Pet, Malik Ishimtekin, noted that fuel costs are very high, but a final decision has not yet been made.

At the moment, the company is holding meetings with the Ministry of Economy and Energy regarding the cessation of sales of gasoline with an octane number of 98.

  • As soon as the situation becomes clearer, it will be announced to the public, - said the head of K-Pet.
