Today in the TRNC, the strike of Parliament stenographers in the Assembly of the Republic continues. The protest action will continue until the demands of the unions are met.

The Cyprus Turkish Public Workers' Union (KTAMS) announced the start of the Parliament stenographers' strike yesterday. The reason for the protest action was that "some stenographers were granted benefits and privileges."

In his written statement, the president of KTAMS, Güven Bengihan, stated that despite all attempts to find a solution to the problems of parliamentary stenographers and the warning strike, no results have been achieved.

Statements made during the strike indicated that if steps were not taken to address the issues during the day, the protests would continue.

Since there has been no positive response from the president and secretary-general of the Republican Assembly, the strike that began yesterday will continue today throughout the day.

"We will continue the strike until the problem is resolved," said KTAMS chairman Güven Bengihan.
