Security Measures Enhanced at Ozanköy Cemetery Following Reports of Flower Theft from Graves
In Kyrenia, security measures have been bolstered at the Ozanköy cemetery in response to complaints from local residents regarding the increasing incidents of flower theft from the graves of their deceased loved ones.
Mustafa Ilgen, an advisor to the mayor of Kyrenia, announced that authorities are conducting an investigation into the complaints received. During the inspections, areas where cemeteries are situated are being monitored by a dedicated police team.
Earlier, residents of Kyrenia had reported widespread flower theft from the Ozanköy cemetery. The issue was brought to the attention of the Kibris Postasi publication. Citizens are urging authorities to take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring.
In his statement to the newspaper, Mustafa Ilgen explained that while thefts at cemeteries have always been a concern, they have recently become more frequent.
