Authorities in the Republic of Cyprus have arrested another individual who owns Greek-Cypriot property in the northern part of the island. A 61-year-old citizen from a European country has been detained for a period of seven days.

According to Christos Andreou, a police representative, the suspect was taken into custody on Thursday evening upon her arrival at Larnaca Airport.

An arrest warrant was issued against her concerning charges of conspiracy to commit serious crimes, extortion, and fraudulent transactions involving real estate belonging to others, specifically related to the seizure of Greek-Cypriot properties in the northern part of the island. No further details about the detained individual have been disclosed.

The police also stated that after gathering sufficient evidence, the woman appeared before the court today, which ordered her to remain in custody for an additional seven days.

Authorities maintain that this case is separate and unrelated to any other similar investigations.

Earlier reports indicated that a court had postponed the hearing for a 49-year-old German citizen accused of selling Greek property in the TRNC. The next hearing is scheduled for October 2, and the accused will remain in custody until then.
