The court of Northern Cyprus sentenced a mother and her son to 12 years of imprisonment each in a case involving the illegal import of weapons and narcotic substances into the country. The investigation established that they attempted to cross the border carrying firearms, ammunition, and prohibited substances.
The court found the defendants guilty on several serious charges, including illegal trafficking of weapons and drugs. When delivering the sentence, it was noted that such crimes pose a serious threat to public safety and require severe punishment. The court found no mitigating circumstances that could have affected the length of the sentence.
