Because of the severe weather affecting Northern Cyprus, classes have been suspended in some schools across the country. This decision was made yesterday during an emergency meeting of the TRNC Council of Ministers.

Following the meeting, a statement was issued, urging citizens not to go out unnecessarily in the evening.

Additionally, today, classes have been suspended in some schools to mitigate risks that may arise due to possible floods. This applies to educational institutions in Kyrenia and Tatlisu Elementary School.

The distribution of report cards, which was planned to take place today in all educational institutions within the borders of the Kyrenia district and at Tatlisu Elementary School, has been postponed by the Ministry of National Education. These schools will be closed today.

The distribution of report cards in these schools will take place later; the date will be announced additionally by the Ministry of National Education.

Furthermore, it has been decided that district police offices will be on duty round the clock and without weekends until the weather conditions normalize. In areas at risk of flooding, there will be an increased presence of the Civil Defense Organization, fire services, municipal employees, police, and district administrations. All these institutions and establishments will operate around the clock until the weather conditions normalize.

As a reminder, today was supposed to be the distribution of report cards in schools in Northern Cyprus. Starting from tomorrow, the country will begin school holidays.
