Istanbul Sea Buses Launch Direct Ferry Route from Taşucu to Kyrenia
Istanbul Sea Buses (IDO) has officially launched a new ferry service connecting the Turkish port of Taşucu with Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. Tickets are now available on the company’s official website.
At the moment, bookings are open for all upcoming departure dates. Ferries leave Taşucu daily at 14:30 and arrive in Kyrenia at 17:31, following a three-hour journey. Return trips from Kyrenia depart at 10:00 and arrive back in Taşucu around 13:00. Ticket prices start from 2,250 Turkish lira for an economy fare.
The new route, operated by Istanbul’s leading maritime transport company, was first announced for launch on May 27. According to the current schedule, daily sailings will continue throughout the season until September 28, 2025.
However, it’s worth noting that despite the official schedule, some departures occasionally disappear from the booking system — meaning the ferries may not operate every single day. To avoid surprises, travelers are advised to check the latest timetables and ticket availability directly on IDO’s website.
IDO CEO Dr. Murat Orhan commented that this new connection will not only support transportation between the two regions but also promote tourism, boost local employment, and encourage cultural exchange.
